The Artisans      

Images in the Wildscapes library were captured by award-winning photographers Mark Melvin and Stephen Kirkpatrick.

In addition to WildScapes, Melvin operates a successful portrait photography business.  Whether in the studio or in the field, his photography not only captures the essence of the subject, but expresses his own unique artistic vision.  Melvin’s approach to photography is based on his belief in the vigor and values of the world of nature.  A single image may communicate meaningful experiences, complex emotions, and abstract concepts.  Melvin’s moving nature photography was most recently featured in the January issue and on the cover of the May issue of Mississippi Outdoors and in the Jackson, Mississippi Clarion Ledger Business Section.

Stephen Kirkpatrick has published more than 2,300 photographs in books and nationally-circulated magazines, including Delta Sky, Audubon, Gray's Sporting Journal, Natural History, Ducks Unlimited, Outdoor Photographer, BBC Wildlife, National Wildlife, and Sports Afield. Kirkpatrick has twice been named a winner in the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition held in London, England.  He has published seven pictorial coffee table books.
